How to Share Your Location With People on WhatsApp
If you often get lost and have to call your pals for help, you will enjoy WhatsApp’s location-sharing feature. You will no longer have to carefully describe your current location to your friends if you use this feature.
Location sharing is nothing new; many of today’s most popular apps, such as Facebook Messenger, Apple, and Google Maps, allow you to share your current location quickly and easily. If you’re in trouble or lost in a strange environment, the ability to quickly share your location can be extremely useful.
However, location-sharing is risky, so be sure you only share your location with people you know and not outsiders. If you have young teens who use WhatsApp, make sure they are informed of the risks of exposing their location.
How to Share Your Current Location on WhatsApp.
When you’re an iOS user, you will need to perform the following to share your location with WhatsApp. To begin, start a group or individual conversation, then tap the Plus icon and select Location.
To share your location on WhatsApp as an Android user, do the following. Tap the Attachments Paperclip in the chat window after starting a group conversation or an individual. Simply select Location and continue with the procedures below.
If your phone’s location settings aren’t turned on, WhatsApp will transport you to the location settings page on your phone, where you can turn them on. You can choose whether to turn on location settings only while using the App or all the time if you like.
Note: If your phone doesn’t automatically take you to the location settings page, go to Settings > Location to find it. Simply enable location services after you’ve arrived. If your phone’s location settings aren’t turned on, WhatsApp will transport you to the location settings page on your phone, where you can turn them on.
Tap Send Your Current Spot when position services are enabled to send a marker for your current location. Tap Share Live Location if you want to habit location updates. Allowing WhatsApp to access your location at all times when prompted is required for this feature to work. When you select one of these two options, an interactive map will be sent to your intended contact(s), which may be viewed in WhatsApp or via Apple Maps or Google Maps.
