On December 14, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will receive its “next-gen” upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, bringing with it a number of graphical enhancements. A new video comparison with the original aims to demonstrate these differences.
In this instance, a montage by ElAnalistaDeBits, who is more or less an expert in this field, is used to compare identical scenes from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version released by CD Projekt RED with those from the original version in a direct and accurate manner.
Even in the above video, there are distinctions that are fairly obvious, just as they were in the prior video’s discussion of the new version’s benefits over the old.
The intricacy of the scenarios, even at great distances, accounts for much of the variation, but the use of global illumination in ray tracing also has a significant impact.
The new versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S will include various enhancements made to the game’s “quality of life” to enhance its use, as well as 4K modes, 60 frames per second settings, and compatibility for AMD FSR 2.0.
Other new features include screen space reflection reflections, new camera options like a shot closer to the protagonist’s shoulders, significant improvements to the vegetation and draw distance, and many more.
