The desktop beta version of WhatsApp now offers a screen lock option. The feature will allow users to secure their desktop application with a strong password, according to WABetaInfo. The smartphone version already has the feature available.
Users who use the feature can increase the security of their accounts and guard against unauthorized access. When you want to share your computer or laptop with others, it will be quite useful.
How to Enable the Screen Lock Feature on WhatsApp Desktop [Beta Version Only]
- First, sign in to WhatsApp on a desktop computer and select the Settings icon.
- Enable the screen lock option and type in the desired password.
Once finished, you will continually request a password. If you can’t remember your password, you should log out of your WhatsApp account and then log back in by scanning the QR code with your smartphone and the WhatsApp app.
Unfortunately, the WhatsApp Desktop application does not support biometric authentication. If a fingerprint sensor is present, MacBook users can authenticate the WhatsApp site using Touch ID.
