In order to incorporate a radar sensor for adaptive cruise control with Smart Brake Support, the left half of the front grille has been changed. When it notices an obstacle, the latter device immediately stops the vehicle while it is reversing at up to 9 mph (15 km/h). The Aero Grey Metallic paint and new 16- and 17-inch-sized wheels complete the exterior upgrades.

Upon entering, a new 8.8-inch setup we previously saw on the JDM-spec 2024 Mazda2 and CX-3 has finally replaced the outdated infotainment system. A newly created asymmetrical limited-slip differential for the Miata ND3 improves stability for vehicles with the six-speed manual transmission. The electric power steering has also been modified by the engineers to reduce friction and provide a “natural and clean feedback feel.” The dynamic stability control system has also undergone changes, including the addition of a DSC-Track mode that only activates when the driver is no longer able to manage the vehicle.

Additionally, the 1.5-liter engine, which is unavailable in the US, now has four more horsepower when using high-octane fuel. The larger 2.0-liter engine with the manual should provide improved acceleration and braking response.

The current-generation Miata will continue to be produced if an ND3 is released at least a couple of years. Purists will definitely appreciate this decision considering Mazda has already said it will have no other way but to electrify the next-gen model to meet increasingly stringent emissions regulations.
