2024 Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance Debuts With New Face, Same 831 HP
The GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe has received an update from Mercedes-AMG. As the updated super-sedan goes on sale in Europe, the sedan features new front-end style, a new exterior colour option, and other minor changes.
The 2024 GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe has a face that takes stylistic cues from the new AMG GT Coupe. It has a lower grille opening that is substantially wider and smaller and pinches the outboard intakes that were previously gaping into stylish vertical slits. The GT’s newly styled grille, which is higher and has additional black trim around the bottom, is framed by multibeam LED primary headlights.

Small interior alterations have been made. The wireless charging station and motorized sunroof are standard features thanks to Mercedes. The company also added AMG-specific displays with individually programmable features to the MBUX infotainment system of the vehicle. Although the Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System is an option, a Burmester Surround Sound System is included as standard.
The 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine under the hood produces the same 831 horsepower (620 kilowatts) and 1,033 pound-feet (1,400 Newton-meters) of torque. The engine is coupled with the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system and the nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission.
Mercedes said the car could reach 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and had a top speed of 196 mph when it first appeared in 2021. The AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes, active rear-axle steering, and AMG Ride Control+ suspension with adjustable damping help it maintain control of all that speed.
The exterior of the GT may be painted in the new Opalite White Metallic. The available upholstery and wheels are unchanged. The starting price for the upgraded Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupe in Germany, including VAT, is 207,708.55 euros ($218,686.99 at the current currency rate).
The AMG Aerodynamics package, two AMG Night packages, the AMG Carbon package, and the AMG Chrome package are available options. Paint colour Manufactur Selenite Grey Magno and the Active Multicontour Seat package are also available.
Mercedes updated the look of the GT43 and GT53 variants in May. The automaker took styling cues from the GT63 variant and sprinkled them onto the lesser models in the lineup.
