Since Toyota chose to retain the Land Cruiser 70 Series on the market and even offer it a facelift for 2024, we’ve been jealous of Australia. The iconic off-road vehicle, which reaches 40 years old next year, was also just unveiled in Japan. The 70 Series is now available for purchase in the United Arab Emirates. We have previously seen it in five-door SUV and pickup truck configurations. It is, in fact, the three-door SUV version that is “shorty”.
With a wheelbase of 91 inches (2310 mm), or 16.5 inches (420 mm) shorter than its five-door sister, this vehicle is officially a Land Cruiser 71. Despite its antiquity, Toyota has modified it over the years, and the most recent model includes contemporary features like LED headlights to a nine-inch infotainment system. While some may deem it unsafe by 2024 standards, it does have dual front airbags, lane departure alert, ABS, brake assist, and even a pre-collision system.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 (UAE)
Toyota has made every effort to keep the go-anywhere SUV as modern as possible, even though some of us weren’t even alive when it first went on sale. The “shorty” Land Cruiser is equipped with daytime running lights, a tire pressure warning system, and hill start assist in the United Arab Emirates.
Power windows, central door locking, a telescopic and tilting steering wheel, and a driver’s digital display are among the amenities. Not only is keyless entry available, but Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also supported.
A naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with 228 horsepower and 266 pound-feet (360 Newton-meters) of torque powers the “new” three-door Land Cruiser. The 1GR-FE engine delivers its output to each of the four wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox. It rides on 16-inch alloys with 265/70 R16 tires and comes with a 23.7-gallon (90-liter) fuel tank.
Toyota is charging 169,900 AED, which works out to a little over $46,000 at current exchange rates. Customers can pick from four colors (silver, beige, white, and gray) while the interior is offered exclusively with five seats and a tan finish with synthetic leather upholstery. Ordering the Land Cruiser 71 today in the UAE means you’ll have to wait until the end of February 2024 to take delivery.
