The novel explores the extreme emotional struggles of a new mixed family, where the main character, Manjari, is a fierce wife trying to shed the customs of the past.
Her frequent arguments with in-laws and reluctance to change often lead to daily tensions, mostly with her husband, mother-in-law, and cousin. The heart of Manjari lies elsewhere than in the marriage to Fazal, which shows a love triangle and unfinished feelings.
In the meantime, family relationships undergo changes marked by power conflicts, envy, and undisclosed anger. Anjali, Fazal’s cousin, shamelessly enters a rough confrontation with Manjari over attention, respect, and space.
Her daring attitude leads her even further into breaking the conventional barriers when she starts her life at the house of her in-laws.
