The Google Workspace is loaded with fantastic tools that can help improve productivity. However, as the world is moving towards a more visual format and users want better and faster results in less time, Google is integrating an AI video creator in Gemini to enhance its collaboration platform.
Google Vids Is Coming to Workspace
In the same minimalist vein as “Docs” and “Sheets,” Google is launching “Vids,” an artificial intelligence video maker, to certain tiers of Workspace. This means that while you’re using the productivity suite at the office, you will be glad to know that there is a new fun visual tool to look forward to as they describe it as a tool to help people tell compelling stories at work as posted on the Google Workspace Updates Blog.
The Time-Saving Power of Google Vids
As said, when the platform known as Google Vids is up and running, Gemini, Google’s AI helper, will be able to generate the videos themselves. The app accessible via microphones is the most recent example that illustrates how the Gemini extension contributes to the efficiency of the Workspace: The app generates content based on textual input, an uploaded document, or the user’s voice.
The tool will compile scenes based on the input provided by the user and, in effect, provide a raw vidicon video presentation. It allows for the background music, suggested clips from the stock, and the text into the draft; moreover, the program can even generate a script for the voiceover recording.
However, don’t fret: incidentally, if you do not like listening to yourself speak, Vids can also do that for you. Like other online facilities that provide voice-over services, Vids offers the client more than one voice to select from.
The idea is that Vids could be an incredible time-saver for work presentations that may have had you scratching your head for days, such as:
- Product demos
- How-to tutorials or one of the employee orientation training videos
- Event recaps
- Vendor outreach content
- Project or milestone updates
- Campaign or design reviews
So: Who Really Has Access to Google Vids?
Google shared in its Workspace Updates Blog that videos will also be available if you or your company has a ‘Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education or Education Premium add-on. ‘
Google Vids may not be able to make a Hollywood blockbuster (yet), but it is used like a hammer…perfect tool for banging out productivity assets such as training tutorials. For one writing tutorial, I can tell you actual videos are useful when illustrating process steps. As for myself, being a video creator, I still think that the element of touch by a person is required irrespective of how popular artificial intelligence is. Perhaps it is just the optimist in me is speaking.
