Sick of these hash hashtags and lames lenses of just any iPhone picture? That was until AI filters became available on my Samsung device. Well, it now seems metallic or polished and so professional, all due to these smart filters here.
Generative Editing
The generative editing feature on my Samsung smartphone is my favourite. I use it to alter and manipulate my images, and I do it in ways that are impossible for me to see. I can sometimes move objects that do not belong, crop or adjust the size of the subjects; the AI will then complete the area that has been masked and integrate the correction done.
I do not worry about people jumping into the frame I was saving for such an eight-perfect moment or an object suddenly appearing before the lens. I personally find it very exciting, as sitting at my desktop, I feel like I have a professional photo editor.
To use this feature, follow these steps:
1. Select the picture you wish to enhance from your gallery.
2. Click on the Edit button, which looks like a pencil > Generative edit button represented with a circle and a star inside it being blue.
3. Draw a boundary around the object you wish to manipulate or delete with your finger. If needed, you can deselect, either by clicking outside the image or by going back to the beginning with the tap of the tap Deselect option Or you can use the slider provided at the bottom of the picture screen to adjust the way the picture looks.
4. After it is OK for you to edit the poem, tap on Generate.
The AI is able to do so because it learns from previous inputs and reconstructs the grid as needed after the moved objects are shifted. To compare the two different views, tap and hold View Original.
Last of all, tap Done > Save as Copy in order to save the edited image. You can do this OVER and OVER again, for instance, if you wanna move REMOVE several objects at once.
AI Drawing and Sketch to Image
Well, I do not carry anywhere near the artistic skills as some, but I have always had a keen appreciation for those who can take their minds and put them to canvas. Before, I no longer got the feeling of creativity when creating something with pen and paper, I can now have the same feeling with Sketch to Image. It turns my crude drawings into highly refined images, owing to algorithms from Samsung.
To use this feature:
1. Located in your gallery, select the photo and then click on the Photo Assist icon (it has a forming star shape).
2. On the left side is a button for Sketch to image. Tap on it again to draw on it.
3. You can change the touch mode for drawing on the image with your finger or with S Pen. Across the bottom of the screen, there are two arrows that are used to undo and redo any action.
4. That will make it easier; you can also double tap on the photo or use two fingers to slide them apart to zoom in or out on the photo once again; when you’re satisfied with how your drawing looks, press the Generate button.
Artificial intelligence then juxtaposes your sketch with several renditions based on multiple styles and effects. To choose the most favourable drawing, these drawings can be scrolled through like in the 3D space. When you have located the right version, use Save Copy to save it on your device.
Smart Editing Suggestions
After your sketch is changed into an image, additional options provided under Edit Suggestions may be helpful. They can tell you, through various options, what is wrong or right with your image.
The first on the edit suggestions list is Remaster. This tool employs artificial intelligence to sharpen blurred images and allows you to fine-tune brightness, contrast, and colours. It even erases ugly shadows and reflections, making your images look professional.
To switch between both versions, scroll the blue arrows horizontally. I particularly enjoy using this feature in old photos to give them new looks.
Another interesting edit suggestion is the Live effect. This item turns your 2D pictures into depth, making you feel like the images effectively move forward and backward.
In addition to these, there is a Background blur. Virtually, it plays the role of eliminating background and making the foreground subject appear clear. You are able to manage the degree of blurring and is able to make alterations as per the desired option. Pull the slider sideways and then to the opposite side to compare your image.
To use these edit suggestions:
1. Now, to perform the subsequent alterations, open your phone’s Gallery app, and select the picture you wish to edit.
2. On More (the three dots), click Details, or swipe up.
3. You can see all the options for Edit Suggestions available in your selected document. Sample them and leave them for future use.
Portrait Studio Features
Portrait Studio, a new feature in Samsung’s Galaxy AI, is quite an artistic touch to your photos. This app replaces normal selfies with cute cartoon characters such as comics, 3D cartoons, watercolour cartoons, and sketch cartoons without changing the feel of the selfies.
To try it out:
1. Take a photo or choose from the library.
2. Press the Photo Assist (or AI icon) and press the Portrait Studio button.
3. Choose a style, click Generate, and let the AI design your personalized portrait.
4. Use the download (down arrow) icon to save your portrait or click the Save copy button.
Just remember that Portrait Studio is cloud-based, meaning that in order to use Portrait Studio, you need a wi-fi connection and a Samsung account login.
The unique aspect of Portrait Studio is that it excels at creating 3D avatars in JPG, HEIC (HEIF), BMP, and PNG formats. Therefore, you can use these portraits as personas in your social network or gaming applications.
