How to implement Instagram AI filter backdrops
The name of the new AI filter for Instagram is called “Backdrops,” then you can generate a one of a kind background for your photo using AI. But here’s how it works, though not for all users, and only on the Insta mobile version (Android and iOS), not the web app.
Step 1. So first, you’ve got to find, or take a picture that you either wanna post on Instagram or use the Instagram AI filter on. You want one that makes it as possible as possible, ideally one where the subject (or you and your friends if it’s a picture) doesn’t completely occupy the space leaving some to fill in the custom AI backdrop.
Step 2. If there is no open Instagram, press the “+” button in the top left, right next to the profile picture to do a new story. Next choose the photo you would like to use.
Step 3. Then hit the ‘Sticker’ (peeling sticker with smiley face) button, and choose ‘Backdrop.’
Step 4. Next, the AI will scan picture and attempt to draw a line around subject to, well, separate it from the backdrop. It works great for photos of just one person but is a bit trickier for more complicated and colourful photos. If it hasn’t worked, press “Next” to continue, or try again with a different photo.
Step 5. The AI will then spit out a ton of suggestions for what might be in the background for you, e.g. ‘On the moon’ or ‘At a New Year’s Eve party.’ Tap one of those to see how it turns out, or type in your own idea using the text box above to have the AI make it for you.
Step 6. If you aren’t happy with the result, you can just tap the “Retry” button to let the AI have another go at making your backdrop, or try a different prompt to make your backdrop. If you are, hit the “Next” button and go on to edit, finalize, and share your AI filter creating with your buddies and viewer.

AI-Generated Stickers
