PDF (Portable Document Format) is an internationally recognized standard format for transmitting documents. Of course, Android devices already support the possibility to open and view PDF files but you may wish to have another app for viewing PDF files.
Method 1: Using the System Settings
1. On your Android device, go to the control panel or Settings app.
2. Scroll down and tap on Apps.
3. Locate and choose the application that is launched when users single tap on PDF files.
4. Tap on Set as default.
5. Navigate through Clear defaults and tap on the Clear option.
Now when you try to open a PDF file again then you’ll be asked to select an application from the list. To make it the new default just pick your favorite PDF reader app and check the Always box.
Method 2: Using a Third-Party App
1. Get Better Open With from the Google Play Store.
2. Lauch the app and accept permissions that pop up on the screen.
3. Go down to the PDF Files and click on it.
4. Click next to the star icon for the app for which you want to set the default mode.
Note – previously could open PDF and it will only start to open. Next, select the Better Open With app, choose always, and the PDF will be opened in the app you chose.
