As soon as word leaked out that Twitch was banning VRChat streamers for wearing “inappropriate attire,” the streaming service promptly reversed its policy.
Since the notice doesn’t specify what could be considered a bannable offense, the VRChat and VTuber streaming communities are extremely confused as a result of these changes.
Before this swift rollback statement, the “Nudity and Attire” guidelines included in Twitch’s terms of service briefly applied to in-game VRChat avatars.

The announcement’s wording, however, has VTubers more worried about their safety than about being kicked from the streaming service, as evidenced by the barrage of inquiries in the answers.
“It’s a ban if my underboob shows on my 3D VTuber model in my VTuber software,” queries VTuber Ley Ley. Is there no ban if I port that exact same model to VRC? What even makes a difference in this case?
“So 3D VTuber models have different rules from VRChat avatars?” asked another. When is it possible to load a 3D model into VRChat?
“They’re acknowledging that the creator does not have control over the other people in the game, and you won’t be banned for their models,” was the same language that other comments tried to break down. You would remain prohibited due to your own model.
At best, these new rules are still ambiguous. Hopefully, Twitch will make another announcement in the future outlining the most recent policy and what specifically is deemed to be in violation of the terms of service.
