Disappearing messages can be activated by clicking the WhatsApp Clock icon on the profile picture, while the indicator next to a message indicates that it hasn’t been sent yet.
Turn off disappearing messages or check your internet connection for any messages to get rid of the icon.
On WhatsApp, the clock icon can be found in two locations. This is what it indicates:
Clock Icon on the Profile picture
This clock indicator indicates that for that specific chat, the disappearing messages feature is active. Messages that automatically disappear after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days, depending on the option selected, are referred to as disappearing messages.
You can disable the Disappearing messages function to get rid of the clock symbol. Open the chat window on your iPhone or Android device by selecting the clock symbol. Tap the name of the contact at the top, choose Disappearing messages, and then choose Off.
Clock Icon on WhatsApp messages
The clock indicator next to the message you sent on WhatsApp indicates that the communication was not sent from your end. To get rid of this clock, you need to check your internet connection. Restarting your modem and phone might help. Make sure the airplane mode is off as well.
