Zoom is now widely used to perform work from home, attend lessons online, and conduct meetings. Although the Zoom app contains all the consumer needs, there are circumstances where you may wish to use Zoom but don’t wish the app to be installed on your Android Phone. This could be probably due to the following reasons; you may not have adequate disk space in your device, or perhaps you just prefer using online apps.
The good news is that Zoom allows participants to join meetings directly from their Android phone web browser without downloading the Zoom application. In this guide, we will examine three different methods of accomplishing this.
Method 1: Join via Meeting Link
1. Leave the email or the message that was sent to you inviting you to the Zoom meeting, clicked on.
2. On your meeting invitation, click on the meeting link to join the meeting.
3. It is preferable to use your web browser, which opens by default. Tap on the three-dots icon.
4. Select Desktop site.
5. You’ll be informed that you can join with the Zoom app if it’s installed or join from your browser.
6. Sometimes, you can be required to permit Zoom to use your camera and microphone.
7. As much as it is true, grant the necessary permissions. Please, type your name as you would like it displayed during the meeting.
8. Regarding most platforms, click Join to start the Zoom meeting.
Method 2: Join via Zoom Web Client
1. Stand by the Android phone that you want to use and launch the web browser that you find most convenient.
2. Access the Zoom web client by typing Zoom website in the browser.
3. Click the three-dot icons at the top right corner choose Device, and select the Desktop Site option.
4. In this regard, it is important to type in the meeting ID or the personal link name offered by the host.
5. Select Join.
6. Sometimes, it will ask permission to turn on the camera and microphone for Zoom. This needs software permission which when granted allows the software to run and function as required.
7. Type the name that you wish to be displayed at the meeting.
8. Click on Join to enter the Zoom meeting.
Method 3: Join via Google Meet Integration
If a user has a G Suite subscription, they can take advantage of the synergy between Zoom and Google Meet by accessing Zoom meetings from your Google Calendar.
1. Tap a Google Calendar app icon on your Android phone’s screen to open it.
2. Open your calendar, find the Zoom meeting event, and click on it.
3. Press the Join with Google Meet button.
4. Unfortunately, after these steps, you’ll be redirected to the Google Meet web client.
5. So please allow the camera and microphone access on your device.
6. Please input your name in the format you wish to be recognized during the meetings.
7. Click on Join Now to join the Zoom meeting.
One thing worth recalling, however, is that you do not have to download the Zoom app to attend a meeting; you can use your web browser, although there might be some issues or restrictions. Some tools, including virtual backgrounds and screen sharing, may also not work.
Note, too, that since video and audio streams are passed off to the browser, joining from the browser may consume more bandwidth than joining from the app. For this reason, it is advisable to employ a stable internet connection when using Zoom in an Android phone browser that does not incorporate the app.
