Instagram users now have a Threads badge on their profiles thanks to the integration between Instagram and Meta’s Threads app. While Threads is a promising option for Twitter, it is presently lacking a number of features, such as the ability to post GIFs, a desktop website, and a follow-up feed. Many of these capabilities will be included in the app, as confirmed by Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri.
Given how many Instagram users have now created Threads accounts, a Threads symbol is likely visible on their Instagram profile. Instagram users used to see a numbered badge next to their username; however, as of late, a Threads profile shortcut has taken the place of that.
How To Unhide The Threads Shortcut On Instagram
Changing the Instagram profile is the second method for hiding the Threads badge. Go to your Instagram profile page and select “Edit Profile” to do this. Click the toggle next to “Show Threads shortcut” to turn it off. Now, the icon will be eliminated. Instagram users can unhide the Threads profile shortcut at any time by returning to ‘Edit Profile’ and activating the same toggle, in contrast to the original Threads badge that was removed and could not be restored back.
The number next to the user’s original Threads badge indicated their position in the queue as well as the number of persons who had registered for Threads before them.
For example, the user would have been the 200,000th individual to register for a Threads account if the Threads badge said “200,000.” Considering that Threads has collected over 150 million sign-ups, it was obviously impractical to keep showing the figures.
Clicking on the profile shortcut opens the user’s Threads profile, just like it did with the previous Threads badge. An Instagram shortcut is also shown on the Threads profile. Users of Threads can access a user’s Instagram profile by tapping the shortcut. It’s important to remember that unless the Threads user follows the individual on Instagram, their private profile may not be accessible. In contrast to the Instagram shortcut on Threads, the Threads Instagram shortcut is currently non-removable.
