Have you ever come across Instagram Reels that you would like to store in the gallery on your phone? You can use this to share with people who aren’t on Instagram or to access it later. Here’s how you can download Instagram Reels onto your phone without using questionable third-party websites or programs.
How to Download Instagram Reels
Previously, you had to use a different smartphone app or go to a third-party downloading website if you wanted to save an attractive Reel from Instagram to your collection. Ads and scams abound on these services. But Instagram just included a built-in download feature for Reels. This means that you may now download Reels straight to your smartphone without the need for any other apps.
Firstly, go to the Reel on your phone that you wish to save. After that, select “Download” from the menu that appears by tapping the sharing icon.
The reel will start downloading on Instagram. The length and quality of the Reel will determine how long the download takes. Once the download is finished, locate the video in your phone’s gallery. From there, you may use various sharing apps on your phone to share it with friends.
Why Can’t You Download Some Reels?
You may still encounter Reels that do not display the download option even if you have correctly followed the previous steps. Privately posted reels are typically the cause of this. Put another way, you won’t be able to download the video if the Reel you’re attempting to download is from a private account that you are able to follow.
Also, even if an account is public on Instagram, there is a setting that allows the creator to stop users from downloading the Reel. Go to your Instagram profile, hit the hamburger button in the upper-right corner, and choose Settings & Privacy > Sharing and Mixes> Permit Reels to be downloaded in order to change this setting on your own.
These are the two primary reasons why the download option might not appear on some Reels. However, there might be a brief glitch or issue that prevents the download option from appearing. You can try updating the Instagram app in such a scenario. As an alternative, you can ask for assistance from Instagram support.
